NFL 2018 Superbowl LIII

Has anyone heard from Gard on yesterday's "officiating?" Gard, I'm honestly not trying to get your goat... but I'd love to hear your take on what took place. I hate it as I would've loved to have seen Brees and the boys return to the big dance.

If the feature ESPN aired yesterday on Brees sending out the custom-made footballs to everyone who helped him get to the all-time passing record doesn't win you over, there's something wrong with you.

The only thing we can hope for now is that a sinkhole opens up in Atlanta in a few weeks and swallows up both teams.

Well, there's a particular scientist at MIT who would wouldn't want anything to do with having this kid in his class...because the professor did the science that the NFL was incapable of grasping, or could care less about.
Goodell understood the news cycle and optics far better, and that's all he cared about.

What the NFL did was clever. It used the whining and moaning from other teams as motive to "explore" the claim that the balls were deflated, knowingly, by Brady. Normally, first you'd actually have to prove that the balls were in fact deflated based on the actual SCIENCE of the situation before making such an allegation. But even without anything resembling accurate data (and the info provided was grossly exaggerated, later retracted), Goodell used this as the impetus to ask for Brady's phone.

How cool would it be to have access to everything on one of Brady's phones? With THAT wife? Talk about a fishing expedition...I would have done the same thing Brady did, and protected my general privacy.

And so Brady served the time for the "crime". Of course, the so-called "deflated" balls have really slowed down his pace and the Patriots ability to just win. Everyone SO WANTS Brady to fall off that cliff they've been talking about for years now. Looks like PSI wasn't the answer.

Where is the "scientific" follow-up from the NFL? I thought they took this issue so seriously that they mandated ball PSI measurements pre-game, half-time, pre-2nd half, etc.? They ought to have a ton of splendid data showing that balls inflated at one temp & humidity - then brought to a much lower temp & humidity - don't lose any PSI, right? Of course, who would trust the NFL with ANYTHING these days?

None of us here know what the NFL is doing regarding that matter. Maybe they have lots of data and monitor it differently now. Maybe they don't.
I'm glad the Patriots front office and players don't respond to it like many Patriots fans have.
When allegations come up, it's the duty of the NFL to look into them.
