NFL 2024-2025

Tua was back, and while I have very mixed feelings about the risks he's taking, there's no doubt about his impact. Miami scored an average of less than 10 points per game while he was out. Today? 27 points, and no turnovers. The only flaw was a bad snap over his head that resulted in a safety, that wasn't his fault. Miami's defense just couldn't contain Murray in the second half. Murray has the 4th-highest QBR this eason, by th way.
That guy has to be out of his mind to be playing. The coaches and anybody else involved should be drawn and quartered for putting him at risk like they are. There's more to life than football.

I agree. But I've heard him talk about it being his life and his decision. Actually saying if football causes him permanent damage he's fine with that. And he has a point about it being his life.

Hopping twice on the same foot doesn't count as 2 feet? Seriously? I hate the NFL catch rules.
Another wasted challenge/time out by Tomlin. Ray Charles could've seen that Pickens didn't get the 2nd foot down.

I will say that Russell Wilson has surprised me by playing better than I expected these last two weeks. Hopefully after their bye week the Steelers will get some of their injured starters back.

Yep, Tomlin is such a fool. The league office in New York already reviewed it and called off the TD. Dumb.
Yes, I'm with you @Bassball Fever about the stupid NFL catch rule. They make it unnecessarily complicated in order to increase their importance on the game. Next thing you know they're going to outlaw one handed catches since how could it be a catch without full possession with both hands?

He sure does have a right to choose his own life, but the NFL can also stand up and decide not to contribute to him ruining it. There's too much money at stake for the NFL to make a decision like that unfortunately.

I never understood why they don't make it consistent with college ball.

Any, what's really important is the Steelers are just two games away from a non-losing season.

There a difference between all the guys playing college or NFL ball who have never had a concussion and a guy who has three (or is it more?) serious concussions within a few years.
The difference being *degrees* of risk as ALL of them are taking the risk of concussions and possibly permanent brain damage. There is no magic number for concussions. More than zero is bad but while multiple events for one person might end up being OK just one for another might be catastrophic. So when someone says they believe that Tua's decision to continue playing might show that "he's already showing signs of cognitive impairment" I find it difficult to reconcile with the bigger picture that anyone engaged in the same activity couldn't also be tarred with the same brush. I'm not a doctor and I don't have access to Tua's medical information even if I was so I'm in no way qualified to make any assessments about his cognitive health. I know he's an adult with access to excellent health care and, I presume, advice and free to make his own decisions just as the rest of the people that choose to play football (or hockey, or name any other activity where concussions are a known risk) are free to make their choices.
