I don't like to be a disappointment to anybody, so.... 😊 I still say Najee Harris is overrated. I keep saying to the TV (as if it can hear me), "If you INSIST on running Harris every other play, at least try to talk him into running North and South with his head down and knees up rather than all this East and West crap!!" Still glad to see them win though. I didn't think they were going to for most of the 2nd half.

Well, this was an ugly win over a good team. I'll take it any day.

This Russel Wilson kid is pretty good. Thanks, Denver.

Williams, their brand new WR, looks to be just what they needed out there.

The fake punt was just dumb.

Highsmith's ankle injury could be very bad...we'll see.

Yep on Harris. The north/south running won't get you on ESPN, so we get what we get with Harris. He wants to be on ESPN, not in the Super Bowl.
The only reason Tomlin won that game was because of that stupid play trying to make someone jump on fourth down. He was fortunate enough to get a rookie to take the bait, otherwise Washington wins that game 30-28. That is such a cheap play to run, embarrassing to watch all the Steelers celebrating when Newton jumped. I dunno, how about you win the game on your own without making someone else make a mistake?
Well, that and the terrible ball spot on the fourth down for Washington. It wasn't the best route run by Ertz, but he had the first down. On a side note, the spread was 1.5. But nope, the games aren't fixed.
That stupid fake punt on your own 15 was reason enough for Tomlin to lose. Yeah, I get it, they watched tape and know Washington sends that guy often, but it's not going to work when you have a guy who isn't a QB throwing to a guy who isn't a WR for 15 yards. Real QB's and WR's miss that throw all the time how in the thunder did you think two DB's would make it work?
Those Wilson moon balls are a thing of beauty when they work. I will say I am glad to see a vertical passing game from the Steelers instead of bubble screens and 1-3 yard passes all game. Good riddance Canada.

Our one o’clock games here were Steelers/Commanders and 9ers/Bucs. I hadn’t been watching much because the weather on game days has been great and I chose to get outdoors to see the leaves turning. Yesterday it rained all day, so I decided to watch and flip back and forth.

I couldn’t have asked for two better games! I have been reading about Washington and seen a few highlights, but they are for real. The rookie QB can really play, and seems poised for his age. Agree that the spot on the Ertz catch was curious. The Pickens catch in the end zone was ridiculous. There were a number of great plays by both teams and it was really fun to watch.

The SF game was also great. Mayfield, whatever you want to say about him, is tough as nails. That stiff arm on Bosa was just stupid good, as was Kittle’s catch in the end zone. The subplot with the kicker was rough to watch, but glad he finally squeaked the last one in.

I would be wrong not to give credit to Khan for those two trade deadline moves in Williams and Smith. Both made big plays during the Washington game. Khan gave up relatively nothing to get either of them. At first the Williams move seemed useless, but that's what I get for paying attention to Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers and the Jets keep right on losing while Williams made the game winning TD catch to keep Tomlin's dreams of nine wins alive.

Yes, but I love seeing a Harbaugh lose and I don't care how it gets done.

Steelers would have lost if Tucker hadn't gone from 'money in the bank' to a junk bond this year.

They would do better with Fields inside the ten. He can make the throws there and he's a run threat that Wilson isn't (as long as he doesn't slide a half yard short of the end zone :sour: ).

That may be true with Fields, but he won't see the field again for Pittsburgh. Why? When Pittsburgh traded for Justin Fields, the sixth round pick they gave up is conditional. It becomes a fourth round pick the Steelers would have to give up if he played 51% of the team snaps. I'm convinced this too factored into starting Wilson and not even giving Fields a sniff of the field.
This all spells doom for Pittsburgh under Tomlin since Tomlin will fight not to be under 500 meaning they'll never get a high draft pick to get a franchise QB and they have zero coaches on that staff who have the ability to develop a QB they could get later in the draft. Wilson might squeak out one more year, but Pittsburgh has zero QB's on the roster ready to take over when Wilson walks away and zero chance of drafting one in time to make the transition. There'll be another Fields out there though I suppose, maybe by then Mahomes or Josh Allen will be available as they try to milk out their career another year.
At the end of the day, this matters zero to Tomlin since he'll be gone when the situation gets that desperate, instead walking away as the coach who never finished under 500 but can count his playoff wins on two hands over the 18+ years he was there.

I only saw the Steelers game, but I’ll say this: that defense is the real deal. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a healthy Lamar contained like that. The Ravens’ run D is good as well, but the Steelers rushed for over a hundred on them. The difference in the game was the two forced fumbles and Tucker twice proving he’s human after several seasons of being Mr. Automatic. Good old school football right there.

Also congrats to the Bills! Now can they do that in the playoffs?

Last, before the Pittsburgh game I caught about 10 minutes of the absolute worst pregame show I have ever seen. It featured Mike Greenberg, Rex Ryan 🤮, Randy Moss, and a couple of other guys whose names I have thankfully forgotten. Everything they did was a total clown show. Dancing and making stupid jokes, fake laughing, etc. It was just brutally awful. Somebody tell me what network that was so I can avoid it at all costs in the future. Yikes, that was terrible.

I agree with you on that defense in Pittsburgh @Chris Fitzgerald.
Tomlin does deserve credit for that defense he put together. When the Steelers have had a good defense in the past, it could usually be linked to a vet or two leading the way. That guy now is Heyward, and TJ plays lights out on every single down. It'll be a sad day for Steeler fans when Heyward wraps up his career. It also helped to clean out that secondary, sending guys like Tomlin's buddy Peterson down the road

I scored the trifecta yesterday - my three favorite teams won.

The Packers got lucky and in a nail-biter, beat "Da Bears" yet again (11 in a row!) The Seahawks pulled it out, and the Broncos thoroughly out-played the Falcons.

The ends of the Packers and Seahawks games were especially worth watching as they came down to the line.

I picked up Saquon in fantasy football and that guy produces unbelievable numbers for a running back. This week and last (when he did the now-famous backward hurdle) he has scored more than 30 points for me. With Josh Allen for my QB and Barkley on the same team, I may win my fantasy league.

Allen has a bye week this weekend, but I have Brock Purdy as my backup so s'all good.

And @MJ5150, I gotta say that I'm happy now for Russ Wilson. He seems to have found the right Coach and game plan, and Tomlin found a QB who can execute his offense. I thought Wilson would auger in, but he's showing that he has some good years left. I'm glad the Steelers are doing well. It seems that Russ leaving Denver worked out for him, the Steelers and the Broncos.
