Speaking of Bears vs Lions, did you all see / hear the sax solo national anthem? Very cool!
Bears need to snap Bagent if they want to sniff the scoreboard today. Williams is going to be ruined before he gets developed.

Eberflus should be fired immediately for that ending. Totally inexcusable.

Tonight was the first time I saw more than highlights of a Miami game. They sure didn't seem to play with any sense of urgency when down 2-3 touchdowns.
Finally at the end with about three minutes left in the fourth they started acting like they wanted to win. Before that, down by 21 or 24, they were playing almost like they thought they were winning is how it looked to me.

Eberflus has certainly shown a flair for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
There are a lot of things a head coach can (and should) pay someone else to think about. Clock management is not one of them. You can’t be that bad at it after almost 3 years.
More to the point, though, the entire team plays sloppy. If one guy gets a bunch of penalties, that’s on him. If a bunch of guys get too many penalties, it’s probably coaching. If it’s across all three phases, it’s time for a new head coach.

Bears fire Eberflus amid 6-game skid, name Brown interim coach
A day after the Bears suffered their sixth straight loss, Chicago has fired coach Matt Eberflus, the team announced Friday.
I guess Ryan Poles agreed with us. Eberflus is gone. More interestingly, Thomas Brown is being promoted to interim head coach, just a few weeks after being promoted to offensive coordinator. I suspect that’s the real reason for the timing. In an ideal world, your head coach is the guy developing your young QB. That way you don’t have him leaving for another team after 1 or 2 good seasons.
It looks to me like the rest of the season is about deciding whether Brown deserves a shot at the permanent job.
