Wilson is doing alright in Pittsburgh, but they really need to figure out how to score in the red zone.
That Daniel Jones story appears to be a Transformer...more than meets the eye. Apparently there is some contract language the Giants may want to dodge to ensure they don't overpay him anymore than they already have.

And @MJ5150, I gotta say that I'm happy now for Russ Wilson. He seems to have found the right Coach and game plan, and Tomlin found a QB who can execute his offense. I thought Wilson would auger in, but he's showing that he has some good years left. I'm glad the Steelers are doing well. It seems that Russ leaving Denver worked out for him, the Steelers and the Broncos.

I have Saquon on my team as well, paired up with Lamar Jackson. It's been a good season. Though I shouldn't have started Jackson this week. I had Goff on the bench.

The Packers got lucky and in a nail-biter, beat "Da Bears" yet again (11 in a row!) The Seahawks pulled it out, and the Broncos thoroughly out-played the Falcons.

Geno's scramble to win the Seahawks game was not at all what I was expecting. Obviously the Niners didn't expect it, either. Geno gets a whole lot of love around here and always earns it, even when the game doesn't go well. This time it did go well. The NFC West won't have any wild card playoff teams. That's all that's certain for now.

Welp, it wouldn't be a Steelers season without a loss to a bottom feeder, and this was it.

I don't know which was worse, the game plan or the execution. They actually outhrew the Browns, outran them, and won the turnover battle and still lost. The D couldn't stop them on 4th downs, so they kept going for it and it paid off.

My son was at the game so he got to enjoy a classic Browns snow game. This is why their proposed new domed stadium is a travesty.

Nine wins is still in grasp. Tomlin coached that game just like he knew that. Zero aggression in the game, no one in a hurry, players more concerned with making snow angels than making plays to win. That's a Tomlin team.
Two failed fourth down plays defined that game for Pittsburgh in my opinion. The one where Fields came running on the field with less than 10 seconds on the play clock was doomed before the ball was snapped.
The other was a fourth and one in the third. Warren got the ball 5-6 yards in the back field. Who calls a stupid play like that on fourth and one?
The standard is the standard.

I'm always happy when the Browns beat the Steelers. Except that they are screwing themselves out of a top draft pick. The Browns are doing what the Browns do.

That last 10 minutes of the Cowboys-Commanders game was some of the most entertaining football I'd seen in a while.

Notice I didn't say 'good' football, but entertaining as heck. Too bad the kicker missed that XP...I would have like to see it continue into OT.

I'm a little surprised at the Seahawks-Cardinals game. It's another Seahawks game that turned out well (as far as I'm concerned), but that was not what I expected at all. Either Murray is slowing down or the Seahawk pass rush is stepping up in a huge way. Geno got beat around, but that seems to be routine for the Seahawks. They have never had a great O-line. Why start now?

It's not as if the world turns on these decisions, but I'm convinced that Sean Payton knew exactly what he was seeing in the college footage of Nix, and that he has exactly the QB he wants. The story is that he knew which QB he wanted from the start, and it didn't bother him to insist on taking him with pick #6. Good decision! There is little doubt in my mind that Denver is going to be pretty darn good for a number of years with Nix and Payton.

And I keep in mind that what Denver fans really hoped for this year was simply a winning season. As soon as the team broke .500 they started frothing at the mouth about playoffs, which would be a lot more than they expected at the start of the season.

Agreed my friend.
Nix went to the best possible situation for him. As long as they leave him and Payton alone, it'll get better.
Now, Penix needs to get on the field in Atlanta to show why he is the second best QB in that draft class. :D

An NFL thread for this year with nary a comment about the BEST team in the league. The Detroit Lions are destroying teams and point spreads, even with the loss of Aiden Hutchinson arguably contender for defensive player of the year when he went down. It's simple they have the best offensive line in football and the wear the other guys down. The Lions have a +177 point differential, the next closest is the Bills with +106.

I, for one, am very glad to see the Lions finally putting it all together. I'm rooting for them to make the Super Bowl from the NFC; and will root for them against any of the AFC teams unless my Steelers happen to defy all logic and odds and make it there. Which means I WILL be rooting for the Lions if they make the big game.
