With free agency underway and the draft next month (at Lambeau BTW!), probably time to restart the annual thread.

The Pack have been pretty quiet in free agency but did pick up an Olineman and a CB from the Raiders, both needs. People were all excited about a possible Davante Adams reunion or signing DK Metcalfe but I didn't think it would happen given the relative conservative stance the packers take and that Guty, as a Ted Thompson disciple, continues to draft and develop. There still may be a FA signing or 2 in areas of need like LB and maybe Dline, but I'm not counting on it.

As far as the draft in GB goes, to me it's way overhyped glitter, glamour BS. I won't attend, even though it's in my backyard, but I'm glad the NFL is holding it there since we'll never get a Superbowl. Even still, it has the possibility to be snowy and cold at Lambeau, even in late April. The tundra won't be totally thawed out by then I think, and I don't wish for bad weather. A freak 70s and sunny stretch, more and more the norm lately, would be nice for the draft and the venue.

Cheers guys and gals. Here's to another season of the NFL. 🏈
Ah, my Stillers lost another game against a highly questionably talented team. It’s,going to be a long season.

The Steelers and their 185 million dollar defense are just bad.

How does an NFL player taking a KO return not know the rules of the game?
Absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable when I saw that. Glad I decided to take a nap after the first half. I've kind of gotten used to these boneheaded mental mistakes and shrug them off the next day at this point. It feels like it's already going to be a roller coaster season for the Steelers once again.

When you pay guys whatever they want and sign your friends, that's what you get. No one on the defense is hungry. They're hoping Rodgers can outscore the other team.
I think Tomlin is as much to blame for that kickoff failure as the kid is. He oughta try coaching his players instead of being their buddy.

Same old Cardinals. With a healthy 4th qtr lead against a lesser opponent, the employ the 'bend but don't break' defense and almost pee away another surefire win. Although they held on to win this one, it was so reminiscent of this team over the years. Coupled with an officiating crew that called every ticky-tack penalty, keeping the Panthers' drive(s) alive more than once. Add in a botched onside kick coverage, and they were practically begging the Panthers to pull off the comeback. But hey, they're 2-0, and we've got some playoff tickets to save up for! ;)

But hey, they don't have a loosing record! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

TV died today so managed to get work done and get a new one same day and figure out a free trial to watch Monday Night Football. Raiders o line is bad and I have to revise my optimistic "Geno Smith is aggressive and that's good' take to "holy crap this guy is just Brett Favring it around the place and I might have a stroke if he keeps doing this crap." The garbage o line isn't helping though...

Welp, Vrabel sucks just enough more than Tomlin does for the Steelers to squeak out a win against a lame team.
Tomlin's game plan continues to be hoping the other team will make more mistakes than him as he stays laser focused on that 9-8 record.
The sudden sadness hit me just now that I can remember the days when this was a big game, maybe even the game of the week.

I know the Raiders still have the Chargers to worry about tomorrow but I don't like the idea of playing an 0-2 KC. Now please let the healing gods visit Bowers' knee.
I'm pretty sure I read some trash AI sports article about the Raiders because they definitely didn't play KC. Still got destroyed, but still, the article I read with the messed up schedule also had a bizarrely early bye week listed. Just checked and they're kinda early mid-season but I am noticing more and more articles on my Google home page being just pure AI garbage. I get reducing costs by replacing people but at least pay an editor the filter what goes out. I'm sure web publishing has gotten automated but it's weird to me to just skimp hard on the content part.

The Browns beat the Packers. I am happy, but really surprised. If the Browns scrape up some semblance of an offense, they might ride a ferocious defense into genuine mediocrity instead of being just flat bad. It is a pleasant change from the usual.

The Bears looked great… against the team that barely eeked out a victory against the Giants and crapped the bed against Philly. Darnell Wright didn’t have a false start before leaving the game, but he did get downfield early on one play.

It doesn’t help that D’Andre Swift continues to demonstrate why his previous teams considered him a backup. I would be a little surprised if the Bears didn’t draft a running back early next year.

I’ve honestly never understood Ryan Poles’ plan at running back. He let Montgomery walk without so much as an offer. Montgomery isn’t the best in the league, but he’s got a great first cut, and he’s practically unstoppable in short yardage. I remember him finishing a run against the Rams wearing Aaron Donald like a cape for the last 2 yards. D’Andre Swift is, at best, equal to Montgomery as an all around back, but with nowhere near the power.
