It was pretty sad in most every facet of the game, but there's 15 more games left and give some credit to the Packer D keeping the Bears out of the endzone most of the day when they had some great opportunities. The D didn't quite play well enough to win, but Favre and the offense stunk up the place. If the Bear's O can consistently play at that level, they're going to be dangerous.

I'll agree to that! After that killer first series the Bears had, they didn't have another offensive touchdown all game. The Packers defense really didn't lose that game, is was the offense that never got off the ground.

As for the Bears offense, I remain cautiously optimistic. I've never been a big Grossman fan, and would personally rather see Griese (and, to a lesser extent, Kyle Orton) start. But, they seemed to get the job done yesterday. If the offense can be as consitent as the defense, taking the division would be almost a given!

Do they demote teams to the semipro leagues for a little while or something for sucking so much? I'm asking you Bears fans because, well, you've been in the cellar so much over the past decade... Lions fans feel free to chime in, too. Is there a depressed smiley? Like hard to get out of bed smiley? The Bears played a pretty close to mistake free football game, gotta give them credit for making good on their opportunities, that's how the game is won...

The Jax-DFW was good... I'm not big on Parcells or Dallas so it was nice to see Byron "the least mobile qb of all time" Leftwich keep coming at the good Dallas defense.

And the Saints look they have some pluck, definitely not polish, though... I still think they're tettering too much. Outside of McKenzie their secondary is pretty iffy... and Payton called all those rollouts to get Brees away from the interior rush, but man, Brees isn't really much of passer on the run. I'm imagining next week is going to be a sloppy game on both sides of the ball.

I was watching the games yesterday with a Saints fan, Bills fan, and Browns fan... and it was hard to watch my friend the Bills fan witness that game turn around... I can't understand why Jauron didn't decide to kick the field goal when instead he went for it on 4th down... it was a ten point swing, instead of being up 20-10, the Pats stopped the 4th down attempt, and marched down the field for a touchdown to make it 17-17. And the field goal would have been what, a 35-, 40-yarder?!!! Take points, man, take the freakin' points... anyway, it was sad to watch my friend sink into the depth of despair after that. At least they flashed some promise and a good pass rush.
