NFL Week #11

I'm not sure what's up with the Seahawks, but they can still rally if they work at it.

My fantasy team has crashed and burned. I started Peyton Manning last weekend and that was the fuel that really started the fire. I think Osweiler gives them a much better chance to win, based on how many injuries Manning has. It's time for a changing of the guard. Manning will probably start another game or two, but he needs some time to at least deal with SOME of his injuries. Frankly, if he didn't have the stature and respect that he enjoys, I doubt that he'd start another game.

I've got a fantasy waiver in to trade him for Kirk Cousins in Warrrrrshington...but I'm starting Jay cutler this weekend.

I just don't get why manning wouldn't take some games off before the playoffs. I get that the starting streak was part of him for a while, but right now they are a lock for the playoffs. If he sits, either osweiller comes in and plays well, in which case Denver has a better shot, or manning takes time to heal and comes back a bit Better, in which case Denver has a better shot. I don't think that's too far fetched.

Actually, at the start of the season there was considerable thought around Denver that Manning would sit a few games late in the year, but he's the kind of guy who won't leave the field unless someone ropes him and drags him off. Right now it's clear that they can't win a game with him playing, as hurt as he is. So it appears that injuries will force them to use the original plan.

I think we in the Denver area will now endure a few weeks of "Can Manning EVER come back better?"

Very bummed for my Pats this week, we've got a lot of injuries so I'm not sure how much longer we can go on without a loss, on the other hand my fantasy did well thanks to Big Ben coming back in and giving Brown some love. I'd like to see the Packers shake off whatever slump they're in though, always a bummer watching a good team not play well

3 game losing streak will do that to you. Not just that, but the way they're losing with such offensive inefficiency. The defense is actually playing pretty well; good enough to win IMO. But the offense is broke right now. I still think they can turn it around. But the next 2-3 games are critical.

I don't see how the guy they got is any kind of upgrade, either. Jones wasn't hitting in the big leagues, but neither is the guy they got. Jones could cover huge amounts of acreage in the outfield. So can the guy they got. So, where's the value? I'm baffled by that trade. Trading Adam Jones has to be one of the worst trades the Mariners ever made. I wasn't sure at the time, but it didn't work out well at all.

Brock Osweiler gets the nod for the foreseeable future while Manning takes an over-due rest.

Osweiler leads the Broncos offense to a victory on his birthday in Chicago, stiffling ex-Broncos Jay Cutler and John Fox.

Many of us in the Denver area consider the Manning era pretty much over. There is talk of him coming back in the playoffs, assuming we make it, assuming he's healthy, assuming a lot. I'm not holding my breath. If Osweiler plays well enough to get us in, he deserves the start. It takes more than simply being a legend to compete in the post-season. At this point, I'll take youth, mobility, skills, and guts over old age, injuries, and smarts.

Love ya Peyton, it's been fun watching you play. Go Brock, go.

It was tough to see Edelman go down, fortunately he'll be back for the playoffs. It looks like the Pats will get some of their injured offensive linemen back this week.
