NFL Week 20

This is Manning's chance at glory. If he fails this year he may as well pack it in and call it a career. Their D has been on fire for the last 2 games, and it's time for him to step it up and be a freakin winner. I don't even care who wins either game, I'm just anticipating lying in bed all day sunday (getting my wisdom teeth out friday afternoon), watching 2 damn great games.

9 years in and he should just, "Call it a career?" Not sure if I agree with that seeing as he is still getting better and is perrenially one of the least sacked quarterbacks.

Remember, people said the same things about Steve Young and John Elway. "He's great, but where is his ring?"

9 years in is a pretty hefty amount for someone in football. The guy is a choker. He throws down super numbers during the year (31 tds, 9 int, 101 qb rating?), and then disappears in the playoffs. I know my statement may have come across as a bit harsh, but I meant it in more of a 'he may not have another chance as good as this in the future' kind of way. Brady should be able to put up a good fight, obviously, but this is the best chance Manning has had to date (the d actually playing well, and he with 2 fantastic wideouts, and 2 very capable backs, as well as a solid offensive line).. I just hope he doesn't squander this opportunity. If he loses, it's only going to make the next playoff appearance that much tougher. And if NO wins the superbowl, I'm claiming a year-long conspiracy :p.

Ah, finally, back to the football talk.

I'm going with the Pats over Colts and Saints over Bears this week. I honestly can't justify the Pats pick with logic, but I'm done betting against the Patriots in the playoffs for a while. Both NFC teams look pretty beatable to me, but I'm taking the Saints based on the strength of their ground game.

Nawlins: The Big EASY.

Yup.

They gonna make it look EASY when they put your guys away for the season!

:D

Oh, and the I'll take John Carney for a kicker, any day, speaking of kicking. However, we won't NEED his abilities to win, if the Bears put the same team on the field this weekend as last, because it won't be close at the end of regulation, and there won't be OT.

Goin' to OT against the 'Hawks does not bode well for your guys against a much better team the following week.

;)

.

It means we win close games all your sayin is the saints will win if it's a blow out.

Bears D will make enough plays and your whole argument lies
on your offense.. you gotta play defense too, which has been scored upon quite a bit also.
Lest we forget:
#1 Defense GONE!
#1 TEAM in the League... Gone!

SAINT"S ADEAUX:)

SAINT"S ADEAUX:)

....it's spelled "adieu".

;)

Dude, win close ones? No sweat, twice against the Eagles, who have a VASTLY superior offense to that of the Bears.

Saints:

#3 pass defense (and other than TWO plays last Saturday, the Saint defense SHUT DOWN the #2 offense in the NFL)
#1 offense

And the only folks sayin' "adieu" on Sunday will be the Saints on the way to Miami.

:)

HUH?? BEARS #2 in points SCORED.....you're talking yards big difference.:p

exactly saints D gives up the BIG plays....thats why it'll

ADIOS santitos, .. Bienvenido A Miami Bears!

This weekend will be fun, and all this trash talkin' on the way there will be darn near as fun!

:hyper:

Saints D may give up one or two big plays, but Saints O makes one or two MORE each game.

You guys couldn't rack anything up against a cornerback that was SELLING INSURANCE two weeks ago!!! :D You think you'll do better against a secondary that is actually an NFL top 5??? ;)

And you really think you'll shut down Brees to Horn/Colston/Henderson/Copper? Only way is to commit to cover 2/cover 3 or nickel/dime packages all game long, and you can ask the Eagles how well THAT worked out. :D Deuce will be lighting your boys up just like he did the Iggles if your D commits to the pass, if they don't well...Drew is due for a 300+ yard game.

Grossman better work on his quickness too, because if he ain't moving constantly in the pocket, Charles Grant & Will Smith will be spending a lot of quality time with him - your OT's can't keep up with them. Wonder how fast he'll turn into "Gross-man" after he gets smacked around 4-5 times to start the game.

Your running game ends with two words: Hollis Thomas.

Oh, and I'm lookin' forward to Urlacher TRYING to cover Bush out of the backfield. Wonder how many times he'll be lookin' for his jockstrap on the turf in the flying saucer...:smug:

This is what i've been waiting for once the Saints proved to be FOR REAL.....

We've had success covering the Rams many weapons...and Seattle had their #1 offense, so i know it's not going to be easy.. Seattle sold out on the blitz, when they did'nt Rex had it easy finding recievers open, although his accuracy was off a couple of times...

Yeah, so easy that it went into overtime.

Gard....buddy.....your guys gave up 38 points to the Steelers.

-Mike

That was then, this is now, everyone has an off day. You really think they'll have one of those in a CHAMPIONSHIP game? :)

They won't give up those kind of points to the "vanilla shake".

:D

Ozzie, you're comparing the Seahawks patchwork D to the Saints? :rollno: Mmmmmhmmmm....yeah....that's a real "apples to apples" comparison! :smug: The 'Hawks don't have a run stopper like Thomas, and neither of their DE's are qualified to carry either Grant or Smith's cleats to the locker room. Lofa Tatupu is a great player, but he's undersized, the Saints have THREE solid LB's. Let's not even talk about the DB's, OK? I mean, yeah, Fred Thomas should be selling insurance, but you guys couldn't score on a dude that WAS selling insurance!

As for comparing the Saints to the Rams...when, in '01? The Saints O is what the Rams '01 O was supposed to be! ;) If you're talkin' about THIS season...you're joking, right? Seahawks #1 O??? Last year??? OK, but they didn't have the same kind of firepower the Saints do this year - they had ONE great back, you're looking at TWO great backs; they had who as recievers??? Nothing on the level of the set the Saints will put on the field. And you're gonna compare Hasselback to Brees???

:D

I hope the Bears are thinking like you are.

:hyper:

Lofa Tatupu is a great player, but he's undersized......

Whoa! Slow your roll my friend. Here I go again defending the Seahawks. Maybe I need to see a psycho-therapist about my inner Seahawk coming out?? :D

Tatupu is a stud at ILB. He hits people hard, chases down the ball, and gives 120% on every down. Ask Jason Witten about the undersized Lofa Tatupu. Ask Nick Goings from the Pantherts about Lofa. I could go on, but I think Lofa's playing in the Pro Bowl this year proves my point. I bet you don't like him because he is from USC. :D

I am tired of just reading all this trash talk from you Gard!!!!!:D

The reason you were third in passing defense is because you were 23rd in rush defense. Why pass when you can run?

This should be a real good game and can really go either way. It just depends on which unit plays better and executes the coaching staffs game plan. The real key is how the Chicago offense does against the NO defense. They give up points and this game can turn into a real shootout. I am real excited and hopefully my Bears can quiet all the haters.

Sundogue, I really don't care how they won the game and if they take NO to overtime and win, it is still a win.

Wouldn't it really be a surprise if the game is a defensive battle and all you will need is 13 points to win?
