NFL Week #8

...apparently, there are those that don't get my wise-@$$ sense of humor, and have decided that I'm a "bad person" around here.

So, with great regret and sadness, I am no longer going to post in NFL threads in specific, or in OT in general.

If I can't enjoy myself, I'll just waste my time elsewhere.



Y'all won't have Gard to kick around when the Saints finally do lose a game, because I won't be here for it.

PS: For the record, I have no gripes with the fine folks that run OT, or our esteemed Admins, Paul and jt. Y'all are doing a very difficult job, and I'm fully aware of it, having been the OT mod myself at one time - you just can't make everyone happy, and I understand that.

As someone who has crossed swords more than once with you, I can say you are completely irritating and annoying. You are also just a fan...... Anybody that doesn't get that doesn't get the NFL in general.

When the Saints do lose (and it may be this weekend) I don't want to PM you my trash-talk. It seems mean.....

I fully expect you to participate on this board, Sir. Anything less is weak.......

I heard the mayor is asking for Ideas in welcoming Brett back to Lambeau. I hope they protect A-Rog better at home then they did at the dome for packers fans sake..they only way I see vikes loosing is by the coaches dumb calls.

Haven't been around here too much this week, so a little late getting caught up with the hi-jinx and other shenanigans blowing thru these threads ....

The NY Giants have some issues to deal with, to say the least. The pounding by the Saints is one thing, to be expected when the whole team chooses not to show up for a game, but the loss to the Cards showed some major weaknesses in the passing game.

Eli looked bad, the receiver routes looked sloppy, too many dropped passes. The running game is way down, probably 1/2 of the passing attempts. Giants have been looking at 7 & 8 man fronts the past two weeks and seem to be shying away from jamming the backs through there .... fine if the passing game is cool, but it's not

The Eagles are the #1 PITA for the Giants every year and the games are always hard fought Going to be a tough day on Sunday, hoping for a snap back to reality for Big Blue ....

I haven't looked at too many of the other match ups this week, but I'm definitely expecting SD to blow out Oakland in San Diego. I'm going to say at least 20 point victory, maybe 30.

i disagree. that game has record implications... specifically that the lions are the only team to ever go 0-16, a record that is seriously in jeopardy this year from the rams. this game is probably the only game the rams have a shot of winning, and the lions need desperately to throw the game so that they remain the only "perfect(ly bad)" team.

in any event i would much rather watch matt stafford's return against a crappy rams team than watch dullsville take on the tittens.

It's a matter of personal interest. I am watching an emerging team get better, one which I have a vested interest in, while also watching a hated rival fall off their high horse.

And Jax @ TN has more playoff implications than STL @ DET. Funny as it may seem to you lot who think so little of the Jags, they have a legitimate shot at a wildcard birth. while unlikely, they can still go 13-3 on the season. I already know that the Colts are going to the playoffs, but it's cool to see whether or not Houston or Jax will come out on top for the number two spot in the division, and maybe a playoff shot.

So yes, it is the only game that really interests me this week.
