It's official as of Monday, the NHL no longer owns the Coyotes. The new owners can now start planning the move to Quebec, if they haven't already.

You have five years to get one ready. There is a clause in the 15 year contract that allows the team to leave after five years or $51,000,000 in losses.

I really hope they come to Quebec. I'm pretty sure that the market here is better than other cities discussed in the past (Seattle and others). Plus, I'm here. That has to count for something

Claude Giroux had a freak golf accident yesterday. The Flyers' statement:

"Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux had successful surgery this afternoon on his right index finger performed by Dr. Katherine Boyd at the Ottawa Civic Hospital in Ottawa, Canada. Giroux was golfing today when his golf club shattered and splintered into his index finger. Although there were no broken bones, there was some damage to his extensor tendons in his finger. He is expected to have a full recovery in 5-6 weeks."

Coyotes won't move east, the league won't allow it. The west is currently short a team or two compared to the east. If they move, the leagues GM's still need to approve the move. So they will want to keep the team in the west. Seattle is the most likely.
