NHL Playoffs!

Oilers in 7.

Too bad Roly went down and Conklin had to come in and take the rap for that bad goal...when his center had his head up his butt while standing directly behind his goaltender who came out to play the puck. :rollno: Not to mention he (the center) mishandled the puck anyway...

AuG

Rod gets the star of the game for 2 absolute gimme goals. I just HATE that guy! I'm pulling for the oilys, but with Dwayner out it's Carolina in 5. That game last night is like losing 2 already. :(

Conklin and Jason Smith (defenseman, not center) BOTH had their heads up their asses, what the fugg is Conk doing back there with 30 seconds left anyway? A clear easy shot to play the puck out, sure. But to stand back there picking his direction like he gonna score off the boards the length of the ice was just silly.

Note to goalie: Get rid of it and get back between the pipes junior! Try watching that rookie down at the other end if you want to see how to stay put and defend your cage.

And a note to defense: Way to look up for the contact instead of playing the puck!

Excellent! My first "00" post is a hockey rant!

Ward way outsaved Roli. And I'm mad bummed that Roli got hurt. That was lame. But I'm even more pissed at the center and Conklin giving away that god-awful game winning goal. I was shocked.

I think McTavish has to kick his team's ass a little before the next game and really get their offense to the next level. It was still great offense for them, but they just need that little bit extra.

Conklin seems to be getting the brunt of all the negative remarks. Not his fault. Goalies(yes, goalies. I am a goalie and one of the things my coaches kept telling me was to stop the puck behind the net, etc etc) go back there to try and help get the puck out. Smith is the idiot who didn't keep his eyes on the puck, and it bounced off his stick straight to Brind Amour. Then he didn't play Brind Amours stick, but went for the puck. Dumbass. I don't care that there was 30 seconds left, but maybe purposely trip Brind Amour. Take the penalty. Thats a situation where getting the penalty might save you the game.

Just to be hockey nazi, it was Jason Smith, a defenseman, who looked up at the incoming contact and let the puck bounce off his stick to Rod, but it was definitely Conklin who stood back there with the bisquit for countable seconds like nobody was gonna come and touch him.

I'll say ity again: Go back there and stop the puck, sure.

With 30 seconds left, PLAY THE STINKIN PUCK OFF THE CORNER AND GET BACK BETWEEN THE G-DAMN PIPES JUNIOR!

Good point. A desperation penalty would have been totally justified.

Spending half the game in the box doesn't help. Not really the goalie's fault either. The offense has to step it up, especially on the power play. The Oilers looked like they didn't deserve to be playing in the finals, I hope they can turn it around. At least make the series what it should be.

I remember watching the Oilers fifth PP(edit: of the game) in the third. Every single time they got into the offensive zone, the Canes just took the puck off their sticks and pumped it down the ice. It was pathetic(and I somewhat enjoyed it, since there is the whole rivalry thing between Calgary/Edmonton). I just hope the Oilers can make a comeback and make it an interesting series in the end, otherwise it'll be a fairly dull series.
