Blue Jackets F Gaudreau dead at age 31

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau has died at the age of 31. New Jersey State Police said Gaudreau was one of two cyclists struck and killed by a car Thursday night in Salem County, New Jersey. Gaudreau's younger brother, Matthew, 29, was the other victim in the crash, police confirmed.

Just horrible. Absolutely heartbreaking.


The police report alleges the driver who killed the two brothers admitted that he was intoxicated and that his drinking contributed to his being impatient, enticing him to illegally and recklessly pass another car on the right, leading to him running over the brothers on their bicycles.

Few things make me more angry than drunk drivers.

This was rough to hear all day.

Matthew Gaudreau's wife is pregnant and due in December with their first child. Johnny leaves behind a wife and two kids (both who are apparently under the age of 2).

It sickens me that this happened. Whether it was the Gaudreau brothers or two people in general, their lives ended because of a selfish decision by another human being.

Yes, the Penguins' prospects won both of their games, against Boston's and Ottawa's prospects.

After being ranked in the bottom two or three in prospect rankings the past few years, Dubas has quietly managed to re-stock the cupboard with some decent talent. Still nowhere near the top, but at this point, we'll take the positive trending.
