Thank you buddies for the kind gesture. Here we go. The Pens will trot out Crosby, Letang, and Malkin hoping they have one more run in them for a Stanley Cup. :D
We're up in New England these days, so it's Bruins, Bruins, Bruins all around us with a small smattering of Buffalo and Montreal fans.
The Buffalo fans, I think they got lost on the way home and ended up here. The Montreal fans, they pass through on their way to the beaches. Apparently we have better beaches in New Hampshire and Maine than they do.
I spent some time in Tampa a couple months ago. Them folks down that way legit know their hockey. I was impressed, and they love their team. Maybe though that's just because they are quite good at the moment.
What say you about this here sport we all love?

Not really. Tampa fans have supported the Lightning pretty much from day #1. We love our "Bolts".
On a personal level, I-as a native Miamian-have loved hockey since ~1963 when NBC(?) would show one game/week-usually Flyers. Even with the mediocre camera work, I fell in love with the speed and physicality of the game.
Used to go to ECHL games in West Palm Beach, FL(Blaze/Barracudas); then Panthers and Lightning NHL games plus occasional Orlando Solar Bears.
TV just can't do justice to 'being there'.
Here's to an exciting 2025-26 season. :hyper:

Agree that Kaprizov's hold up is not the money, but term and team competitiveness. Rumors are he doesn't want to commit to 8 yrs if the team doesn't show improvement.

Pens open the season in NY against long-time coach Mike Sullivan. Not holding my breath for an upset, but it will be somewhat interesting for Pens fans.

Can't wait to see Marner playing with Eichel. Even though both are considered playmakers one of them will be shooting a lot more this season.

Too early for any predictions (which I'm terrible at anyway), but I wouldn't be surprised to see a Edmonton-Florida Final for the third year in a row.

The Leafs are in the enviable position of being second fiddle here in Toronto right now. With the Blue Jays looking to wrap up the American League championship, there is very little chatter in the city regarding the Leafs.
That should help them out for the early part of the season, should they not start well. That won't last much beyond the Jays season though....

The Raps, assuming all the key players are healthy, could steal a bit of attention as well this season. I'm hoping for it. They've been a tough watch in recent years. But they've assembled a decent squad with better depth. They won't be contending for the top spots in the Eastern Conference, but they could be a sneaky good and tough team that people in the city rally around. (Or they might just be bad 😂 I'm cautiously optimistic.)
