Always liked his tone. It doesn't look like he's playing his regular big rig in this vid and he is still getting his tone. I always thought that buzzy distorted thing he has going, came from his dual channel Pearce preamp.

I like this. I'm glad the guitar player has a clean tone or this could have been chaos. I remember watching Metallica audition bass players and thinking "Where is Billy Sheehan?"

I just heard a sound check jam with Sheehan filling in for Geddy Lee. Billy has a couple holy cow moments during his solo. It sounds like he's using Geddy's Wal. The rest of RUSH sounds like they're having a ball. Inspiring stuff..

I would love to hear that. I remember seeing a video with a bunch of bass players taking solos and when it came around to billy everybody had that look on their face "damn!". It would be hard to follow him.
