I bought a Spector 5 in the mid 90s.It was their "budget line"at the time,just under a grand.It's not a Euro or U.S.A. but it looks and sounds like a Spector should.I had been lusting a Spec for ages and saw it in the store with my then girlfriend who said let me get that for you.We have been married for 23 years.

I love the look and sound, but I tried one not too long ago and as suspected, with the bridge not being at the butt end of the body, the upper horn strap pin aligning with the 15th fret (rather than the 12th fret) and the 35" scale length, it was a diver and a long reach when playing standing up. That all adds up to a deal breaker for me.

Same here, on all counts. Wish I could make it work for me, but by all accounts it's a no-go. :(

Yeah, I just can't make the ergos work for me.... though I've tried. I have had a few Spectors in my life but I just can't make it work.

But wow, that Eurobolt really does sound great. Aguilar electronics too. Hmm.... I guess I'm surprised. I've been skeptical of Spectors with the OB preamp and and Agi DC's.

That's really, really nice. I had a Euro 5LX that I still regret selling—however, I'm not really a fan of neck-through construction (other than my Cirrus and BB2000). Too much sustain for my particular approach to playing. Combining that Euro construction with a good bolt-on construction seems very appealing. :woot:
