A friend (and potential bandmate) was hosting an open mic locally last night, and invited me to come down. For simplicity I brought my Hohner B2V - my travel bass, a cheap little headless that I defretted. I plugged in through a DI to the PA.

Normally when we play I bring my Zon and a Mesa/MAS rig.
I did one song solo bass (which went over quite well) and then he and I played a few tunes together.
After the first tune he said "yep, it's in the hands - even on the cheap gear you still sound like you. It ain't just the expensive gear that does it".

    Love it!

And the Hohners are inexpensive, but they’re decent quality instruments. I love my Jack bass.

I have a B2V that I’m thinking of making fretless. How did you go about doing it?
