Hi guys i figured i would share this story.....
I noticed my amp epifani ps1000 had some static noise whenever i touch or adjust the master volume knob, it even made the noise if no bass was connected so since i have a extended warranty through ams i first contacted them about the issue and they gave me epifani cust service number, so i give them a call ..no answer (maybe they wasnt open diff time zones) so i went on the website and put in a work order request ...a few hours later nick epifani himself called me from ny , i was amazed that the owner of a successful company would take time out of his busy schedule to call me (LITTLE OLE ME )
Long story short he told me with new amps sometimes you have to play the knob a little i guess to break it in then the static noise should stop.....well he was right i turned the knob up to 10 a few times and no static noise ever since(never turned up past 4 its loud) ....well after that we talked for about 15-20 mins about gear i told him my cabs were a ampeg 610hlf and i have a hartke rig as well and he didnt bash the other companies he actually was like you have great gear and shared some of his experiences with hartke and ampeg hmmmm..
But one of the things that stuck out is when he asked where did i purchase the amp from i told him ams online and he said and they directed you to me, i said yes and he said BASTARDS!!! lol , then he said if u buy a car from a mercedes dealer and you have issues with it are you going back to the dealer or you gonna call mr mercedes himself lol.....ok guys im done :hyper::roflmao::thumbsup:

Yeah, for an operation his size, he probably has a warranty contract with AMS that they are the ones who are supposed to field this kind of stuff, but it's very cool that he took the time to chat and troubleshoot. I knew a certain boutique amp guy in the same circle that had to post a cardboard sign with a message written in crude sharpie: Non (boutique builders name) amp consultation fee: $150/30 minutes. Same repair work: $1000/hr.

He was known as such a "guru", he was inundated with calls and visits by people that had more interest in him poking around in their vintage AC30 and talking shop than actually buying an amp, and this was for a one man operation. It was cool having all the big names swing by, but it got to be a bit much, even going so far as to having his number changed after he felt a certain guitarist was pushing the limits.

I called Epifani once for a problem I was having with a used Piccolo. I had a good conversation with Nick and he was very helpful. He admitted the amp had an assembly flaw and repaired the amp no charge even though I wasn't the original owner.

All this can be said about almost all my gear. I can get in touch directly with:

Dave Green
David Homer
Mark Robertson
Jonathan Reiner
Bobby Baldwin
Sheldon Dingwall

greenboy cab designs
Gigmaster soundworks
BNA Audio
Reiner Amplification
Engineer at Peavey Electronics
Dingwall guitars
I purchased an amp from Nick, and I had a problem with it on a gig. I called Epifani from the gig to leave a message. Nick answered the phone and tried to diagnose the problem over the phone. The next day I received a brand new amp. I owned the 600 watt model he sent me a 1000 watt amp with a handwritten apology.
