Jmj,

What was it like playing live with NIN?
How was it working with Trent? Most importantly, what did you gain most from the experience?

Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, it's been covered. Try some searches. But in brief:

I loved playing live with NIN. Always a joy for me to tap into other parts of the emotional spectrum. Trent was/is great to work with. He demands excellence in himself and others, but also goes through life balancing that with a healthy sense of humor.

I believe that perhaps I gained a keener edge to my playing (when required), and an expanded skill set, having played guitar and keys every night...instruments I always dabbled in but never played as regularly as bass. Also: stamina.

Not so much a question, but a general NiN comment. I heard that Trent tweeted that fans should NOT buy the new reissue of Pretty Hate Machine. Based on his comments it sounds like the label was trying to cash in with another CD release before the format well and truly dies. Good to know that you're working with someone who has the fans interests at heart!

TR always thinks of the fans, and it's quite admirable. He has no interest in doing anything but making sure the fans get the most bang for their buck, aren't getting duped, and are treated with respect in all circumstances.

I can't help but respect Trent immeasurably for doing that. I know a good number of music fans who are always on the lookout for new reissues and remasters. But when the artist comes out and says something like this? WOW! It only serves to illuminate an even greater contrast between Trent's own integrity and the financial motivations of the label.

And mind you, I only have perhaps 2 NIN albums.
