bebop and rocksteady were so incompetent!

who was your favorite ninja turtles ancillary character? wingnut sticks out in my mind. also the turtle with substandard speaking abilities who had that strange headgear.

and the set of four frogs...

man, i had all of those toys, up to a certain wave. pretty far down, too. (<-- i guess?)
God, there were a lot. Remember Brain?

brain? you mean krang, the mutant brain creature that lived in the abdomen of that strange robot?

i remember he had two toys, one where he was in some sort of bipedal walker machine and the other the more traditional robot. i had both of'em.

and i can't believe no one has mentioned the first video game, the one by konami! that game was frickin' impossible. i think that underwater level has played a significant role subconsciously in the development of people around my age.

(i finally was able to beat the underwater stage when i played the ROM a few years ago! :hyper: and using emulator-enabled cheats and an old strategy guide, i was able to make it to the entrance to the technodrome level, except for some reason i wasn't able to get in. :bawl: )

Yes, Krang. He rocked.

The first video game was SOOOO hard. I still have it floating around. I remember as a kid that we always used to sit around and theorize about what lay "beyond the water level." One claimed to have seen his brother's friend beat it, and there was some sort of "Turtle Van Shooter" level. It was, at the time, the promised land of video games.

The other two nintendo video games were pretty cool, too, though not nearly as hard.

The water stage was not that hard once you knew the path to take, and had some healthy turtles to spare.

I reached the sixth and final stage several times in that TMNT game. Though that final stage was ridiculous, I never had the stamina to beat it.

Bad ROM dump. I ran into that as well once.

I have the NES game, and I was never able to finish it, though I managed to get into the technodrome a couple of times. Problem is, getting there is about 10 times easier than actually finishing the damn thing. And there are these purple dudes floating around shooting lasers... harsh man, harsh.

So I downloaded the game on an emulator, figuring the instant save/load feature would help me finish the freakin' game, and it crashed right when I was supposed to fight the technodrome. Same problem

yep, right afterwards is the map where you drive around in the turtle van and get to shoot missles at those foot-clan steam roller dealies.

the music in that game was classic. i also find it funny that very few enemies had anything to do with the ninja turtles.

and was anyone else profoundly disturbed that the cover art had all four turtles wearing red bandanas? that stays with me, even to this day. :(

finally, tack on another for leo and don.

Yup, stage 3. Then stage 4 you end up fighting an "evil-ninja turtle clone" or something, and save splinter. Stage 5 was in foot clan territory, and stage 6 was in the technodrome.

I'd like to see just for once what shredder actually looks like in this game.

gee! this thread is so full of geeks!!!!!!

I managed to clock the game once using a ROM and cheats. unbelieveably difficult. on the nes it was impossible, no one would be able to finish that damn thing!!! those floating dudes in the technodrome would shoot a laser that would hit you whether you ducked or stood!!! AAARRRGGHHH!!!

BTW, notch one up to Raphael, he reminds me of me... sarcastic, not overly social and somewhat of a recluse...
remember the dud with the hockey mask and cricket bat? what was his name...Casey Jones? he was cool.
