No! Don't tell it on the mountain, puhleez!

Ironically, here I am, telling it on the mountain.

I just finished a gig where the last three songs were Silent Night, The First Noel, and Go Tell It On The Mountain. Simple, right?

Go Tell It is just a I IV V pattern with alternating fifths and transition walks. Of course I forget to turn up my volume, and when I do its only half way at first. Then I'm up too high. By time I get it right we're half into the second verse and... and... Aaargh I can't remember my transitions in this key!!

Did I just ruin Christmas?!

Hi,

You can expect a lump of coal in your stocking.

Thank you for your indulgence,

The correct talkbass answer is....your bass is now a jinx for any future holiday songs. So you are going to have to buy a new bass, for those occasions. And it must be sunburst, with a tort pick guard, and have flatwound strings. Now, get shopping!
