That's like saying that Mexican or Puerto Rican Spanish is not real Spanish. I'm sure they would beg to differ. Sure, Quebecois is not Parisian French, but it's every bit as French as Acadian or Lebanese or anywhere else French is spoken. It's a living language, and that makes it as valid as any other versions of French spoken in this world.
Actually the Spanish would beg to differ. There are signigicant differences and my Spanish colleagues cringe when Americans come over speaking Mexican or PC flavored Spanish.

yep. But I was just having some fun. French cinema often pokes fun at the Quebecers as the slow cousin of the 'real' French. Much they way Americans make fun of people from the south.

I go there yearly. I have quite a few Quebec friends. Sorry, but your level of french is generally not so good. If it hurts your feelings I apologize, but given my experience (though limited) with Quebec, I can't say I'm amazed by your skills in the french language. If you think I actually give enough of a crap about Quebec (
) to have a colonialist outlook on how you guys speak french, you give yourself way too much credit.Speak it any way you like, for as long as you like, I don't mind nor really care, but I've seen adult from Quebec who've studied french in universities write french with grammar and conjugation (dont know if thats the english word) errors a lycéen wouldn't do here.
As for the context in which the language "evolved", I'm fine with that. But dont call it french
However if you know for a fact the contrary is true then I only ask for my opinion to be changed.

For my oversea friend MORF (sorry, for all you TBers that cannot read it, I did not have time to translate). The OECD only statuate on reading (that's all I could find): Here it goes:

Not interested in debating an argument that time has proven, never goes away.
I'm not European, BTW. I'm a maudit anglais tete carre who left 20 year ago. I very much know what I'm talking about and honestly don't care.
I speak French daily and I'm proud of it and proud of having learned the language when I did.
