Polanski got a 13 year old girl drunk and gave her drugs and then raped her. There is no question that he did so and he was fairly prosecuted and convicted. The fact that decades have passed since he fled the country to avoid his legal punishment and this is now being construed as his "serving his time" is sickening.
If he weren't a rich celebrity with a lot of rich celebrity friends, then he would be instantly dragged back to jail to serve time for the original conviction and then also tried and convicted and forced to serve additional time for fleeing justice and no rational person would think of defending this piece of crap.

Someone should tie him to a chair and force him to watch all of his movies while people constantly yell 'This Sucks' at him.

Hopefully he will be brought back to face the sentence that was imposed on him 30 some years ago.
He knew what awaited him in prison which is why he ran like a coward.
In prison, sex crime convicts have a very short lifespan. Rapists and sexual assaults on women are bad enough, child rapists and diddlers are the most despised. The convicts in general population take the attitude that the "skinner" could have done what he did to his victim to their wife/sister or daughter. There is always an inmate that wants to settle the score for the woman or kid that the skinner hurt and also make his standing better in the gang.
So, for this former corrections officer it will be good to see him do the perp walk off to prison to do his bid, he will be strip searched, given his prison clothes, a toothbrush, a face cloth and towel and sent to a shared cell on "Skinner ally" with all the other sex crime convicts. Where they all live together, take showers together and live in constant fear of being killed in an instant because they know, that if it wasn't for that gate that keeps the general population from getting to them, they would be dead already.

I wonder too if some prisoners have been sexually abused as children and that doesn't make them particularly sympathetic towards skinners.

not to mention that famous folks tend to get targetted. nothing like the cred lifers are gonna score for offing a celebrity criminal.
I wouldn't consider her much beyond a stupid quote machine at this point, but here we are on a bass forum discussing her for just that.
