No volume from bridge pickup

I dont know if this is seriously newb or not here goes. I have a stock Brice Z6 and I really love the bass but as soon as I roll the blend pot to the bridge pickup...I lose all volume? Which normally isnt an issue because I sit just off center towards the neck pup but I feel like I am definitely losing some flexibility. Ultimately, that is what life is about right guys...flexibility ;) any help or sexual innuendos would be much appreciated.
