Noise suppressor/gate

When I have (for arguments sake) my odb3 with a high gain setting there is lots of noise coming off my amp when I don't play, I know this is normal and all but what's the best way to resolve it, a noise suppressor or noise gate? And would u recommend any I could use? I don't want any tone sucking from the pedal either, tell me what you guys recommend caus I'm dieing for a solution

The boss noise suppressor NS-2 is one of the best gates I've used. It uses your clean bass signal to trigger the gate so you can have the noisiest distortion pedal ever running and still achieve those tight silent stops inbetween notes or songs.

I haven't noticed any tone sucking either. The rest of my board is all true bypass.

Chiming in with more support for the NS-2. It has both gate and suppression modes, so if you want dead silence when you stop playing, it'll do that.

Another vote for the NS-2. I picked mine up about two weeks ago, using it with my ODB-3 and MT-2, no tone sucking, although I have noticed my I get just a tiny bit louder when the NS-2 is turned on. You'll love a NS-2 with your ODB-3.

Yes, the ISP Decimator is the best noise reduction in a pedal you can buy, and worth the price. Still, it's always a better plan to avoid any pedals that make noise to begin with.
