Noisey Spector Bass

Hey y'all. I recently acquired a brand new Spector Dimension 5. I'm almost head over heels for it. What's holding me back is the noise introduced when I pull the Master knob for the single coil mode. It's fine with the blend at noon but when I turn one way or the other, the problem presents itself. Is this common?

completely normal with single coils

Single coil PU's will do that, Strat's, my JB does, even my Dimension does it when the socket I'm plugged into is questionable.

One would think Spector, et al would have a fix for that some 55 years later. Probably a simple fix. I've always thought of Spector as next level up basses.

It was fixed long ago. Someone invented humbuckers and different variations of it.
