For me... hmmm... hockey (the best sport on earth), hanging out, football (both), school - history, poli-scie, econ is kind of fun... philosophy is good... (history major)... camping, going off-road a bit and driving in general (plus i love cars/bikes)... getting more and more into hunting... games a bit... movies, comedy, music, HOCKEY!!! computers I guess... posting on TB (yes... 99.9999% of your also should put that down...) ...probably more...

oh yeah... me love the ladies...

Writing, misanthropy, drawing, film, sleeping, reading, music in a general sense, piracy (digital and seafaring), drinking, road trips when time and money permit, science in its many facets, geek culture, Scrabble, losing Scrabble, almost winning at Scrabble, and cursing at Scrabble (they're all related, but not always concurrent activities), sadly shaking my head as any and all vestiges of sanity are removed from day to day life, and last but not least, taking cheap shots at people I dislike, and heck, do like, for that matter.

I also do vocals and am endevoring at drums here when my money doesn't get swallowed by unexpected bills...

I've played Hockey most of my life, but age has caught up to me. I just can't keep up with the young guys any more. I try to work out a minimum of 5 times a week. When I'm not touring, I'm a professional close-up magician. That's a payed hobby, so to speak.
Being the best bassist I can be, takes up most of the time that fathering and husbanding allows me, though.

I play golf. Well, I did. It's one of the things that I had to stop doing because I ruined my back.

Ahhh, the 1911; IMO the greatest auto-loading pistol of all time. The 1911 is what got me interested the .45 ACP. I bought one for my dad in the late 80's as a Father's Day gift.

My favorite is my Sig Sauer P-220, followed by my customized S&W 4506. I guess Colt doesn't manufacture firearms for sale to civilians any longer , but Kimber and Springfield Armory make some really nice handguns based on the 1911's design.

IMHO John Moses Browning was a firearms genius!

Totally agree about 1911s. Springfields, for the quality compared to the price, are probably the best somebody could consider. I had a friend that, when I first started shooting, was into Glocks, and I never did enjoy shooting those because of how drastically muzzle-heavy the pistols get as you go through the magazine. My parents never have been into any sort of shooting during my lifetime, so I'm not really sure where I got it.

If you like Browning's work, have you shot a Hi-Power (I'm talking about the 9mm models)?

Seriously, I've been toying around with selling my Series 70 Colt Government and getting either a Kimber or a Springfield. The smaller-frame two-tones really strike my eye. I just can't seem to justify buying one. I'd have to sell a bass, and that I would never do.

Plus, I can't justify a CCW permit, and don't need a new, smaller gun if I don't get the permit.

I guess I ought to add a caveat to my previous statements. Full size 1911s are great. I despise compact models of just about any pistol, cause I've yet to find one that's not almost impossible for me to grip and fire comfortably. I'm completely sold on Springfield Mil-Specs, though.

I want a CCW permit, but it's mainly just so it'll be easier to get the weapons around from place to place (like to and from the range, to and from the various other places I go shoot). I refuse to get into a discussion about the other various issues surrounding CCW, though.

I've been thinking about getting a mid-sized 9mm. I've been leaning towards a Walther P99 (not just because it's the new Bond gun) I want it mostly because it feels good in my hand. Is it a gun that's worth it? Or should I look into something else like a Beretta or Glock?

I dislike Glocks, for the most part. They're solid weapons if you can stand shooting them. I've no experience with Beretta or Walther, but I've heard from second and third hand sources that they're nice weapons. IIRC, Beretta 9mm pistols are standard sidearms for most NATO forces, for what that's worth.

Well, I am a college freshman in a chemistry class of 600 people. So there goes most of my time...

When I'm not trying to comprehend quantum mechanics, I play bass (duh) and guitar some, but not enough, really. I love to snowboard, but I bought a season pass. So there is no snow. Passinwind, I know how you feel. So I have spent the majority of my free time longboarding. For the old folks, that is basically skateboarding on a really big board. I bought a new ride today. Sector 9 platinum series bomber concave deck, Randall 2 180 trucks (best thing ever), Sector 9 greaseballs bearings, and 72mm nineball wheels (also Sector 9). Yes, I am a label whore. My old board was fun, but this new one actually makes it feel like I'm snowboarding in the streets. Great stuff. I also make a hobby of looking foolish in front of attractive girls... not so fun. Gotta love college.

I'm going to go put a few more miles on the new board now!

dcr, I'm not sure what shape your Model 70 Colt is in, but I've read they're somewhat collectable. You may want to check out it's value. The Colt I bought my dad is a Series 80 Govt Model. I love the feel of the 1911's design, it just fits.

Eyescream, I've shot a pre-ban Glock 17 9mm a few years ago; I thought it was quite the pistol. But I already have a Beretta Combo that's both a model 92F and a model 96F. It has 2 barrels and slides so it's convertable from 9 mm to a 40 S&W. My wife loves the Beretta, so it's pretty much her pistol now. I'd love to buy the HK chambered in .45. I shot a friend's HK USP40 that was fantastic.

Too bad there's no NHL this year, friend said that they might play the cup in another league though, because it belongs to Canada etc. Hopefully in a few years, I can play some D3 in college
