NON-Neutrik Speakon Cable. Performance?

You can get the local at Guitar Center, or any decent music shop.

You should be able to buy 14/4 so, soow, or sjoow cord by the foot at any big box retailer like Home Depot.

The OP's application does not require 4 conductors, wiring 4 conductors is more difficult because at one end the conductors cross over to the appropriate terminals because of the lay of the wire.

14/4 SO is a very tight fit on the FC's even with the largest chuck, and 12/4 SO will not fit. The connector is really spec'd for SJ class cable.

You are correct, and you'll go crazy and get bloody fingers trying to make it work. Not that I know from experience or anything.

SO cord is rated for 600V----the extra thick jacket is not needed for a speaker cord
SJO---- the J is for "junior"---- rated for 300V--- still over kill for a speaker, but a good choice, and easier to work with

When I was in contracting, I used Neutrik exclusively for Speakon style connectors and experienced no quality or warranty issues.

Based on my positive experiences with Amphenol RF connectors, I decided to try the Speakon style Amphenol cable ends on some of my own equipment. So far, so good, but the first ones have only been in service for about a year. I like using the Ampenol connectors for cables with a relatively small outside diameter, and I like using the Neutrik connectors for cables with larger outside diameters.
