I have the opportunity to buy a boss equalizer pedal. Now I have no idea how to use it so can someone tell me which one is low mid high and so on.

Noob question about a equalizer pedal!

Might need a little more to go on there! Do you mean what nobs/sliders correspond to low/mid/high or do you mean what frequencies lie under each category?
Low / mid / high aren't precisely defined - it's more of a continuum.
Is it the bass eq pedal? If so, the 50 and 120 are low, the 400, 500, and 800 are mid, and the 4.5k and 10k are high.
Ultimately, though, just use your ears to find what works.

I wouldn't bother buying a pedal that 1) you don't know how to use, 2)don't know if you even need, and 3)would use money that would be better spent on a bass or amp. Pedals are a great bunch of toys, but if you don't have a good bass, AND a good amp, you're wasting your money.

Whether tool or toy, do not buy a pedal if you don't know how to use it, aren't willing to learn by experimentation, and aren't willing to read the directions.
