Noobie Stack question

So I finally up graded to a real bass amp not a small 100 watt combo. I got the Acoustic B200H with the matching 410 cab. And I was reading the manual on how to wire the cab. It says min load is 4 ohm and the jacks are wired in parallel. Does that mean I need 2 cables going from the head into the cab or 1? Any information is helpful. Thanks.

Just an FYI, make sure both cabs are minimum 8 ohm cabs. anything less and the two cabs wired in parallel will produce a load below 4 ohms.

when wiring in parallel:
1-4 ohm cab = 4 ohms
2-8 ohm cabs = 4 ohms
2-4 ohm cabs = 2 ohms (and an unhappy head)
1-4 ohm cab and 1-8 ohm cab = 2.66 ohms (and again, an unhappy head)

good luck!

bl2112, I hope you don't mind me jumping in your thread here, but I've got a similar question of my own.

I'm looking at buying the Markbass LM800, and wanted to run two 8-ohm cabs with it. Today, I realized that it only has 1 cabinet output - will it be possible to run from the amp to cabinet #1, and then connect cabinet #1 to cabinet #2?

The idea is to use the amp's 800 watts at 4ohm, but series/parallel is confusing. :hmm: Both cabs would be rated at 500watts, also.

Thanks for any help!

Markbass amps have two speaker outs...one is 1/4", the other is dual use speakon-1/4".
