NORAD: Warning - SVT content

Jimmy, the hardest part of this whole repair was getting the small driver board tubes correctly into their sockets, which are recessed below the chassis, without bending any pins.

If it weren't for you guys, I'd still be thinking this was a 2004 unit. :) Have a great holiday, man.
same to you! and enjoy that head...those loud cl's kick!

I have an SVT CL with a nasty buzz.

I put in a new set of 6550's...biased up properly, does full power.
Then I Jumped all the big caps with another 47 mfd...no change, then re-soldered all the power cap joints...and a few other suspicious joints.

Nothing changed...pulled the pre-amp tubes, still no change.

looking at the scope...it has 40 millivolts of AC buzz. Very tall/sharp and short lived spikes at 120 Hz. Power diodes?

any help would be grooovy
