We are not " armchair builders" We have built what we are talking about...and know what we are talking about. Just because a lot of companies are doing it does not make it right or proper. It is not much harder to do it right the first time...as my grandfather always used to say..."If it is worth doing , it is worth doing right!"To the OP...don't let the armchair speaker builders discourage you. No disrespect to the OP but to present his way as a good way is already attracting others who don't know anything about speaker design also. They will follow his lead and have similar boxes. Until you have heard a good, efficient cab you do not know what you are missing. Plus with a proper design you do not need gobs of power.
