Yeah they used to give me that one too. Especially prevalent in ham fisted guitar demo-ers.I've had a guy walk away from buying a bass because I had it tuned down a half step, and he wanted standard tuning. When I tuned it up for him, he said he was worried it "wouldn't hold".
Carol Kaye would trade in her Fender P Bass for a new one each time she needed new strings.I'm not surprised that they think being tuned is a quality to look for. I was surprised to see how many people take their guitars in to a shop for new strings.

I'm no fan of McDeath's, nor was i on the jury that heard the details and decided the verdict. I wasn't specifically even referring to that case, but i knew what you meant when u replied to my initial post.
