Not everybody has a hi speed internet connection

I live in the Philippines. I retired here from the USA a few years ago. Sure, when I lived in the states every thing internet wise was state of the art where I lived (northeast).
Here in the Philippines it is a different story. The internet is slow, sometimes very slow. I have to think that with our international membership I am not he only one with this problem. Where I used to spend an enjoyable hour with talkbass and a cup of coffee every morning, I now find myself throwing in the towel after a few frustrating minutes.
Yahoo mail did a similar upgrade, similar to this one, not to long ago adding a lot of wowee zowee bells and whistles. As a result there are times when I cannot retrieve my email due to my lame connection.

Once again am I the only one outside tht USA or Europe having this problem?

Disable the flash uploader and rich text editor in preferences and you should have it much easier.

We're not using a CDN at the moment which could be greatly affecting you (all your data is coming from our server in Los Angeles). We'll be back up on a CDN soon.

Thanks for the quick responses. I took your suggestions and have had a signifigant improvement in my connection. I also switched to the "retro" format, wonderful!
I am getting older and seem to hate it when changes are inserted into my little world. LOL
