Not sure how to solder this particular wire

I'm so close to having this thing done but I've run into some uncertainty with this. This is coming from my soap bar. Not sure how to solder this wire in particular with it having an inner sheath and all. I'm not an electrical engineer I'm just an instruction follower. Anyone got two cents?

It would look much cooler to have it in the bottom “notched” part between the bodies but much easier to drill in straight from the area by the strap button. If you’re using a plate for the jack don’t forget to leave room for the screws.

Let us know in the original thread when you get ‘er done. I want to see how it turns out.
 
If I am picturing this correctly, it has to go in the notch.

I think the strap will lay flat against the area above the strap button.

edit: changed my mind. The pic in the other thread looks like you are using the bass strap button, not the SG’s button.
