Not Young, But Still a Beginner

I've lurked on these forums for a little bit, learned a lot from many of the discussions, and thought I'd finally join. I've never been a gigging musician, I just play at home ... and only well enough to amuse myself and occasionally annoy my family.

I look forward to continuing to learn from everyone here and contribute what I can from my limited experience.

Your description sounds a lot like me. I’m glad to see more “ just for fun” bass players like me.

You sound like a perfect candidate for the Mediocre Bassist Club!

This forum has everything from people who have spent five minutes on the bass, to some of the best bass players in the world (literally), to people who think this is a place to discuss lures and trolling motors.

When in doubt, reply “a p-bass with a tort pickguard and flats” and no one will know you’re not a grizzled veteran.
