I hope they cancel the ban and force people to smoke in public places even school classes. So we could get rid of those asthmatic kids that cost so much to society.
Imagine no non-smoking places : libraries, schools classes (for both professors and students), supermarket, swimming pools,... every where you could smoke, and now have an asthmatic kid, could you have the choice to stay at home.
As far as for bar tenders to have a fully separate smoke room, I don't see why not, as far as they don't force and put pressure on bartenders to go and serve in those rooms.
second hand smoking is not good.
I would go further (seriously) I would fine parents who smoke in the same room, car,... where they have kids (until the kids are 18 or 21, well until they are adults and can take the decisions no to go in the car...).
How is that you have to put security belt to your kid in the car to save his life, but you are allowed to poison him by smoking in the car.
Could I drive drunk in my car: my car is private space, It's not sure I'm going to kill somebody, so why not?
The ban law is based on risks to other people: on't do anything that is dangerous for the others.
If you don't like this principle,:
1) you can choose like for barmaid, non smokers to leave the place=country
2) I'm gonna drive 65miles per hour in front of your house and if you don't like it don't let your kids go out in the street and keep them at home
[EDIT]:
That is democracy too: you vote for people that will legislate for your own good. The majority (well not always) decides what is good for everybody, and then it goes. If you're not happy : write to your congressman, create your own party, win elections and change the law.
