Now Playing [Part 2]

Chico Buarque e Zizi Possi - "Pedaço de Mim"

One of the most heartbreakingly-beautiful songs ever.

End of third verse:
"A saudade é arrumar o quarto. Do filho que já morreu."
"The saudade (blues) is to arrange the room. Of a son who already died."

Saudade is notoriously difficult to translate into English. There's no single word in English that really encompasses it. See more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudade

"The Trumpton Riots" by Half Man Half Biscuit

ha! excellent, was listening to that yesterday - from Uncut's Peelie Festive 15

Currently playing Einstellung's Sleep Easy Mr Parker track - a half hour krautrock masterclass. Kinda like Neu! meeting the sea and cake in a cafe then going off to buy stereolab's guitars from French Disko. highly recommended! A snip at £2.50
