Well that's boring.
This is also from Beat Club, which is European, so Noel would be using Marshall, regardless of the year (though this is 67, so he hadn't made the switch to Sunn in the states yet).
Nope, no Acoustic here. It's a Marshall stack each for Jimi and Noel. You can see the lead from Noel's bass going into one of the Marshalls towards the end of the clip.
I have the boot of this whole show, and it's actually one of my favorites. Noel has a great performance, especially on Foxey Lady. I don't think I've ever heard a rig sound so much like it was literally about to erupt into flames and exploded as on that performance. Jimi even says at the end "it's very bad trying to play on ashes".
Here's some more photos for everyone:

This being the coolest pic of all...authentic, man.

Noel had a great performance? Noel Redding?
Yes, in fact he did. Despite all the people constantly talking $**t about him, Noel could actually play. Yeah, maybe he's not John Entwistle or Jack Bruce, but he exactly fit what the Experience needed. Personally, he's one of my favorite bass players, and the reason I've switched to playing Sunn gear almost exclusively. Let's not have this thread devolve into people ragging on Mr. Redding, please.

Sorry folks we'll have to agree to disagree about Noel. And no I don't think the comparison to Ringo works either. Ringo is a rock solid, experienced drummer when he got the call to join The Beatles, whereas Redding, as far as I know had zero experience as a bass player before getting the gig with arguably the most influential guitarist in rock history.
Wow! Lucky for Noel that you weren't around to scoop that gig out from under him, huh?
If only Hendrix could have heard you play, I'll bet things would have been different...
Damned fate!![]()

I feel sorry for you younger cats and your 2x12 combos. You think your getting the job done but you have nothing to compare it to.
Also, makes you wonder. If Hendrix were playing today, what would he be using????![]()
And doesn't that just say it all? A man with little to now experience on the bass was chosen to back Mr. Hendrix?
Speaks to his abilities, doesn't it?
,And it's not as if the man had never picked up an instrument in his life. He'd played guitar for a number of years before switching over to bass. Hmmm, what other bass players did that? Oh, Berry Oakley, Jack Casady, Macca, to name a few, yet they aren't consistently attacked in the same manner Noel is.
Now, I'm not saying Noel was nearly as virtuosic as those players
but making the argument that just because he was not an experienced bass player first is just silly.
That said though, I respect your opinion to not enjoy his bass playing. Just don't come into a thread praising him to trash him. That's just asking for trouble.
No not really. According to Mitch Mitchell he was chosen mostly because he fit the look. And I note that Noel wasn't Hendrix choice later on with Band of Gypsies which in my opinion was a far better band.
How is it silly? Do you really think that someone who has played some guitar and never played bass is the right choice to play bass with arguably the most influential rock guitarist ever?
Sorry I thought this thread was about his rig. I didn't realize it was Noel Redding as a bass player.
