my Bogner Oxford fuzz just arrived today and after playing thru it for just 10 seconds i knew that i loved it. it can go from a clean boost, to overdrive, to fuzz to a ridiculously oversaturated fuzz, and the best part, there's no low end loss. it's also super punchy and touch responsive. IMO, this one is the real deal.

Hey I know this post is like 2 years old, but I'm considering this pedal. I checked out your OD review page and couldn't find it on there. Nothing else on TB about it either. After having it a while do you still like it? Any further observations? Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply!!

I was only able to catch some guitar reviews of it, but it sounds like with the tone knob you can dial it back and get some nice rounded light/mid OD sounds but then also crank it if that's what you're looking for. Seems pretty versatile.

I bought this pedal on a whim - i've been looking for a transformer based pedal to do some magic on the low end - and its fairly cheap on reverb nowdays.

Its a pretty good distortion pedal! as long as you keep the tone knob below 12 o'clock there is no low end loss, and it sounds great wether its a hair of distortion you want or full blow metal attack. Even a low B sounds good thru it (& doesn't lose its low end). i liked the sound at low gain with gain up at 75%, fuzz on middle setting and tone knob at 33%.

I opened it up, it does have a Neve transformer:

I dont think its the end all be all of bass distortion pedals - it would be more useful with a 3 band eq - and there is no dry/wet mix that some bass distortion pedals need. Its a little wide - about 3/4" wider then a IE pedal for example. I like it as much or better then my Darkglass Alpha Omicron (which i think is pretty good), but the Dr. Scientist "The Elements" is more utilitarian. I can't wait for the FEA Dual Band Distortion 2 either.

Not sure about the 3 dimensional sound either - I know what a good API or Neve transformer can do to a bass sound - they kind of tighten up and strengthen those lower frequencies - the API Transzformer def had it (but i hated the compressor, DI and size) and i've been lucky enough to play thru some Neve 1073s and Telefunken V72s (both with DI options) that had it, but at least on initial listen don't think this one has that magic.

but it is a dang good sounding distortion pedal!

One of these just popped up for me. Really thinking about it. Any good gating?
