NPD (kinda): Lifesaver Thingy (extreme DIY)

Hey guys,

Let me introduce the Lifesaver Thingy.
- Made of only the highest quality components available
- Housed in a roadworthy (almost) carboard cosmetics box (courtesy of mom)
- Painstakingly hand drawn "graphics"
- Hand wired by a stubborn accountant in Geneva, Switzerland

What does it do? Glad you asked.
- Plug a guitar in the input and the output into an amp. Give the guitar to a buddy and let him play for a bit.
- When you're fed up, plug your bass into the "insert". Your friend is now muted and now you can play through his rig (hopefully blowing his amp in the process)



Basically 2 jacks wired together with a switching jack in between. Just thought it would be fun to share.
I will actually be using this with my wireless unit, so I can plug a cord in without disconnecting anything should the battery die or something go wrong.

Whatever it does, I like the name. I'm not quite sure I understand the "lifesaver" part, but it's definitely a "thingy."

Basically, but instead of switching it with your foot (or hand, or whatever body part you like to use), inserting a jack in the 2nd input does the switching.

Maybe "gigsaver" would be more appropriate but "lifesaver" sounds sexier. It's the thing you hope you'll never use, but it's there for peace of mind. The day something goes wrong it can spare you from ripping apart your board mid-song.
