Got mine in last week and i really love it.
In my experience most dirt boxes are one trick ponies but this one is really useful across the whole gain range, which is huge. Some settings sound quite trebley/agressive solo but great in a mix. It slices through but the bass still maintains the ability to 'carry the mix'. Also sounds great fed by the OC-2.

I searched for a couple weeks for a used one that ticked the boxes. Now that I've placed an order for a top jack version a few have been popping up and they've been most tempting.

I've been tempted to get a second because of how much I enjoy the different sounds these can achieve. It's easy to imagine one being used for light grit and another as a fuzz or high gain.

If I'm remembering correctly the bass control is cut only.

I don't notice any low end loss. FWIW SS/BS site states that it was designed with bass in mind.

That's right, cut only. Also, the bass control is post gain.

I've been getting used to mine. Generally maxed out volume with enough gain to engage the sound and make it big. IT follows my Diamond comp, which gives a nice boost, and sounds great with a muff after it.

I don't hear low end loss. Right, bass cut only. At unity, with gain between 10 and noon, and bias between noon and 1, bass at 3 o'clock and treble at noon, it's the best overdrive sound I've ever played. Unseated the Pork Loin (huge surprise for me).

Funny enough, I was using it as a gated fuzz (gain maxed, bias fully CCW) since I traded my old fuzz and needed that sound in my set up. Back in the OD slot now that another fuzz has arrived. Craig Biggio of pedals.

It doesn't have a particular flavor, imho. Even the fuzz is basically the tone of your instrument but in square wave. The pedal doesn't have a specific voicing in my experience, it sounds very natural and "transparent". I don't like that word that much but I don't have another.

This worked wonders when stacking with octave and filter or octave and phaser.
