To me the clipping is the same in fuzz or OD mode. The switch just changes the blend range.

Agree. It’s hard clipping at any setting. Of course the ability to blend and adjust tone makes it very versatile.. it just doesn’t behave like an overdrive for me.

I try one couple days ago at Guitar Store after inspire by Matt Freeman tone.



I plug it to Ampeg RB112 ( which i currently own ) , sound nothing like that Matt Freeman tone even how i tweak it...... my current cheapo Caline CP60 + Joyo R28 able get that Matt Freeman tone on my stacked Ampeg RB112 with Matt Freeman Sig P my self..

This would be one of the greatest dirt pedal ever if they changed the layout to dual footswitch instead of toggle switch between OD and Fuzz. Right now it's the Pork OR Pickle. Mr. Tripps, if you're reading this... please!

Yup, that's what I found too. There is something that clips (hard) even with overdrive on almost zero. Probably not meant to distort, but it still does, and it makes it useless to me (since I want "edge of breakup").

And no, it doesn't help to run it at 18 Volt, I've tried.

It's really not a mild, edge of breakup OD, and that's what confuses people. It doesn't have that kind of headroom on the pure OD channel, and really needs to be clean blended to sound good. It's great that it has a tone dial for both the clean and OD channel. It's in the same category as the EBS Billy Sheehan and Jam Lucydreamer, and IMO beats them both all around and is the best I've tried in that category.

It's a great pedal, people just don't accurately describe what it actually is around here.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to describe. I used it for months on OD, couple of months back I flipped it to Fuzz. Either way I keep the drive knob turned way down, almost off.

I recently picked up a Darkglass Microtubes BK3 overdrive that I actually like better.

Nope, it's definitely not working as it should. You can actually hear that it's both soft clipping and hard clipping at the same time, and the latter is not supposed to be there. This won't be noticable with a bit higher gain though, because the hard clipping stays constant while the soft clipping increases. It must be something before the actual clipping diodes that is hard clipping as it is not affected by the gain setting of the pedal.

...the additional clip could be the clean preamp; if ran at 9v, and the clean pre is set high, it will clip unpleasantly. i have tested running at 18v, and this clipping goes away.



..i just got my P&P, currently testing settings (...to include internal trim pots). Ill report back soon....
