It doesn't happen often (Okay this is the second time)--but I have bought two pedals on the same day.
(Both times both pedals were used)

So in achieving my goal of a separate guitar & bass pedalboard I needed to have two of some sorts of pedals-primarily an octave pedal that does up octaves & an auto wah. (& an EQ if I got one for a good price)

So stopping by a couple of stores after work the other day I found two used ones at the same store. that fit (Octaver & EQ)
And the price was right & a factor in buying them--btu they both do what I need them to--so that will work out well.

First is a Mooer Pure Octave--with a dial offering various combinations of up & down octaves and control for up & down & dry.
I already have a TC Electronics Sub N Up--and it is the better pedal, and if I found a used one a good price, I'd get it (I also recently missed out on a used octave pedal of a different sort that I had considered before I got he Sub N Up)-but I like how the Pure Octave works with my bass--so it goes on my bass board & the Sub N Up on my guitar board--who knows-maybe one day i'll reverse them.

The EQ is a DOD FX40-B--this one will go on my guitar board & my Dano Fish & Chips EQ will go not he bass board--again--works better that way--I like having an EQ to have another sound ready at the stomp of a pedal. And sometimes playing with others I need a bit of something to cut through better--or to mesh better--so an EQ pedal is good that way as well.

I know some don't like Mooer & DOD--but these do what I need from them, and I have a DOD FX53 Classic Tube for my guitar board & I like it.

Any way--new Pedal Day X 2.
I often only play bass with my volume pedal or no pedals--btu having the other pedals is fun & works well for some stuff.

Both worthy pedals and it you like them don't be critical. Sounds like you got it figured.

I spent some time today with my bass & the Pure Octave, getting to know it better--seeing what settings I like, what works for some songs, and just jamming to see if it inspired any new ideas (& it just might have done that)
It was a lot of fun.
(And I tried both EQs to see if I had a definite preference for the bass or guitar boards. They both sound pretty similar--so the Dano will stay not he bass board)

I personally haven't tried either, but if they cover your needs and you are happy with them, then good for you.

I dig octavers and I think eqs are useful tools, definitely good types of effects for a bass player.

It's my second DOD pedal--a co-worker gave me an FX53 Classic Tube years ago I use on guitar.

Both with doors.

Man, I've been trying to decide if the Mooer would work for what I want it for.

When people use the upper octave stuff, they mix those with the dry and lower octaves, resulting in poor intonation, since the pedal is not in tune at the octaves. The tracking seems spotty.

But, I think, with the right effects combination (namely ambient swells with a good delay), that should smooth out the sound. I want to use an 2+ octave up pedal for ambient pads for the hell of it.

Nobody's reviewed the Mooer with added effects that I can find. Have you experimented with other effects to smooth out the sound?

It works for me for some stuff.
I was looking for an u[p octave for bass, and I also have a Sub N Up that I will be using for guitar, but if I found a used Sub N Up for a decent price I would probably use the second one on bass-and leave the Mooer on the board as well--there are differences
I would also be using a chorus, EQ, Volume pedal & Auto Wah.

Well 4 1/2 years later, as seen in my recent NPD thread, I did find a used Subnup for a decent price (a mini, at a better than decent price)
And a couple of days I sold the Mooer.
I did consider keeping them both, but after trying them head to head (and together), I decided to sell it.
It was only the second pedal I have ever sold.
The first I sold earlier the same day.
An old pedal I almost never use.
Felt weird in a way, but also good.
Now to see what the proceeds of the pedals might bring me.
