One of my fellow vendors at the trade shows I work is a superb leathermaker. He showed me some pics of his sadlery which was amazing so I figured that with Ethos being out of business, he could easily make some similar straps. A bit less costly too.

Here's his prototype:

Works quite well with my Ocean turquoise jazz basses:

The 2nd one will be violet with pearl white accents for these Adam Clayton Fender basses:

Edit: He's acquiring some gloss violet leather rather than the matte & satin material he currently has in stock. Should be nice.

That is really nice. I've been looking for another strap maker comparable to what Ethos used to make myself.

Love it! I’d even try the green with your Adam Clayton sigs. Might make those inlays pop even more.

Green would be nice, or violet with green accents perhaps. If you saw the fancy saddlery he produces, it would seem that the straps are easy-peasey, but I don't know his business model or if it's worth his time. We'll see.

I hope that as he gains proficiency with the style of straps in which I'm interested, he can make a wide variety of them for me and others. I have to discuss his interests and intentions for this product line.

He certainly has the capabilities. I let him borrow one of my Ethos straps overnight so he has the dimensions. I think that if he decides to add this product line, time will increase the quality of the fine details although the strap turned out very nicely . . . Even the padding is well done.
