!!!NUTS!!!

First let me say I am not a Luthier, what you guys(and gals) can to to and with instruments leave me slack jawed. Much respect ✊

I am working on a build(third) and am working with a replacement nut. There seems to be three schools for attachment to the fb.
1- zero adhesive- let the tension of the strings keep the nut in place.

2- super glue aka- CA. Stew Mac vidios uses CA glue. And because he is a master Luthier

3- wood glue such as titebond

Are any of those really stupid ideas? I know enough to know IF I used an adhesive i would put it on super thin, not much would be needed. I am currently sanding it down for fitment and will stop before it gets to small so I can read your experiences. Thanks in advance.

All are valid. I have used all three. The main goal of the glue is simply to hold the nut in place when changing strings. As soon as you put string tension on the nut the glue no longer matter. (unless you have some nut to tuner alignment issues)

^^This. The type of adhesive is less important than the amount. Just use enough to hold it in place.
