NV610 Cab and Amp Pairing

Wait! There is a tweetered version of the NV610?!

As a guy who likes both the sealed sound and the tweeter sound, my already high interest in this cab just doubled.

+1. If you dig the particular way the NV610 focuses your tone then it is hard to use anything else in my experience. My NV610 has been the only constant in my rig for the last 7 or so years!

I've used an Ampeg SVT, SVT Classic, Mesa D180, Mesa 400+, Mesa M6, Mesa Walkabout, Music Man HD130, Fender Bassman 100, GK 800RB, Genz ShuttleMax, Genz Streamliner, Fender Bassman 300 Pro, and an Aguilar DB750 all through it successfully. Given its strong character I was able to dial in great and useable tones with all of them. It's main strength IMO is in its midrange punch, so having nice mid sculpting capabilities on the amp will really open it up nicely.

Another vote here for the Sunn 1200s. Epic with either the NV610 or NV412. The NV412 is my personal preference.

I've done the A/B at JGR's place and definitely understand why many prefer the NV412, but I go with the NV610 because it's got more SVT timbre to it.

I've used an SVT CL, trace v8, agi 680/728 and agi 659/728 through my NV610. I seem to float between preference, at the moment it's my V8 (and I'm playing mostly hair rock right now)

If I use my NV215, it's a toss up between my v8 and the 680/728 combo

If I use my accugroove tri 210, then it's hands down the 659/728 combo

I've found the style of music im covering has a hand in what voice/feel I'm going for, but mostly I just pick whichever combo I feel like, or maybe haven't played for a while... They're all pretty good
