OBD - Godin Acoustibass

I've been recovering from a couple of
surgeries lately and I've been instructed to not lift anything over 10 lbs for a few weeks. That cut out playing my upright and most of my electrics, so I've been working on playing my Godin Acoustibass. I bought this brand new back in the mid-90s, looking for an upright kind of sound, before I played upright. It hasn't gotten much use in recent years as mostly I play actual upright now.

It's nice to get a chance to rediscover this bass. The LR Baggs piezo and the resonating tines under the top give it a wonderful woody sound, and the neck is slim and comfortable. It weighs right around 7 lbs - has a bit of neck dive, but nothing terrible.

You don't see these too often, so I thought I'd share.

I'll post a sound sample shortly.

Very nice , I haven't seen one in black finish before. Played one in a store long ago, same time as the "Glissentar" game out. Tone of the Godin Bass was drool-worthy.

Yes, it has a control plate with vol, bass, mid, and treble. It's got a LR Baggs preamp.

Over here, you don't see a lot of Godins. But I do want to own one, one day, and gig it. In my language "godin" means goddess.

Just listened to the track. Beautifully done. You can hear how the acoustic bass guitar is its own thing, distinct both from solidbody and upright.

Thanks! It definitely has a sound all it's own, which I quite like. It's a shame the only made this model for a short while before simplifying to the A4 designs which bear a superficial resemblance.
