This would be my first choice, but it's almost three times the price of everything else. I can't justify the purchase for the songs it would actually be used for. Hey, how about I borrow yours whenever I play these two songs! :woot:

You get what you pay for.. It also does a great Hammond B3 impersonation too.. Many options.. It's very tasteful and has 8 presets you can create.. Many more uses then just 2 songs... Save your coin and by a used one..

I use the 3 Leaf Octabvre; it tracks extremely well, but it's sensitive to high output instruments.

Gary Willis uses some kind of Boss (?) multi effects unit that I saw in a video that REALLY tracks down low super well with no breakup. Too lazy to search the video but easy to find.

It certainly tracks wonderfully. But the sound is very obviously "digital". Especially the octave up, which one of the big things I wanted from it, but sounds super cheesy to my ear. It's OK with distortion but clean it sounds kind of cold like playing back a sample.

I had one of those for a year or two. Amazing amazing amazing. I just didn't use its capabilities enough to justify learning all the programming and keeping it. It is very expressive and tracks beautifully, but it's a lot of stuff to learn, and it's about the most expensive path to octave dividing, since that's about 1% of its capabilities.

If you need to change your tunning to BEAD, you dont need an octaver, may be a whammy is a better choice or a 5 string bass.

An oc-2 is hard to beat on octave pedals, (sound and price) the tracking on mine is really, really good. The buffered bypass its very clean. (Mine is a silver lavel oc-2 made in taiwan)

I agree, the Mxr bass deluxe and the Aguilar are both great pedals.
The Mxr has its own colorization. I actually like it but I traded it for the Aguilar. The Aguilar has the most neutral sound but it is still somewhat colored.
The oc2 is a great pedal but you need to be okay with its synthy sound.
If the 3, and because of the way my fingers play the strings the Aguilar requires me to play harder to get it to kick in.
The pog family tracks way better than any of these, and is polyphonic!!! But something about their sound bugs me. I really want to live them.
The Mooer sounds really good on guitar and not so good on bass.
I'm waiting for the walrus octave pedal but right now I keep the oc2 and the Aguilar on my board.
