Octave Pedal question

Analog circuits don't "identify" notes. They're actually octave dividers which divide the predominant frequency of your signal. They get glitchy when one frequency is not clearly dominant. There's no cognition involved.

Octamizer was great, but I like my FOXROX Octron better. Tracks better IMO, and has the fizzy upper octave which can add a nice effect sometimes.

+1. I think I've tried them all (except the POG) and Foxrox 2 works best for me.

Ok- the ebs gets a lot of hate, but think it's pretty impressive. The 'mid' voice is a good blend with the dry sound for that deep umph.

I think it tracks better than EVERYTHING except for the POG family and the Iron Ether subterranea, and despite what people say, i think it sounds pretty great.

On another note.
The aguilar octave has an AWESOME organic, responsive sound and a non-obtrusive octave sound

+1 multiplexer!

To my ears, the most natural setting on mine is with both knobs down at 7:00, but as there is a volume drop there when blending at 50/50 or less, I set them at either 9:00 & 12:00 or both at 12:00 depending on the song.

I really like the MXR BOD, it's got a great tone and brings a smile to my face every time I punch it on. It's got a warmth to the synth sound which I like. I tried the Mini Pog, I just didn't like the basic octave sound, although I liked the other parameters on the pedal. The MXR tracks well enough...does anyone really need to go too low with an octaver?

I am a big fan of the Mutron Octave pedal - the originals are WAY too expensive but BYOC has a clone available that nails the sound. I had it put together by my tech and love the thing. Especially since the originals only work on AC power - this one can take a 9v DC input.

Past that - I have very fond memories of my old Japanese OC-2. I have to +1 on using the OC-3 in the guitar input on poly mode. Tracks great and sounds pretty darn good. Maybe not as lush as I remember the OC-2, but very good.

All this talk is having me consider buying another OC-2 as I miss it.

BTW - am I right to remember that the original Japanese OC-2s can't use standard power supplies? I have a Fuel Tank Chameleon that can do just about anything but what would it take to use it with the original Japanese OC-2s?

What do people think about the later generation OC-2s? The one I had was labeled "Octaver" and was one of the originals.

Using the EHX Multiplexer and I like it. I actually run two signal most of the time, one clean or through a Big Muff, and one through the Multiplexer. Gives you your natural tone with that octave backnote. More natrual to my ears than most chorus pedals but still gives a nice full sound. With the Multiplexer, I love using it when I play above the 12th fret. Makes my bass almost sound like an organ and HUGE.

however it works, i'm also happy with my EBS.
